All employees are again reminded that KSAs are NOT to be submitted as an attachment.

The HRSSC is getting a large number of calls from employees who want to attach numerous pages to their profile, including training history, additional skills and abilities, and even copies of previously completed PS Form 991s.

Employees should attach a document ONLY if specifically requested in the posting. Very few internal announcements ask for any information to be attached, with the most common type of information requested as an attachment being a driver’s license or degree requirement.

If no attachment is requested, review committee members and selecting officials will ignore them.

Although some may feel there is not enough space to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and abilities within the summary of accomplishments, employees should be mindful that the eCareer system was designed for the applicants to enter specific information on the appropriate screen. All applicants have the same amount of available space so their information is presented in the same organized manner.  Applicants should follow the directions for each screen and utilize the space provided.

To summarize, when applying for a vacancy, if the announcement asks for something to be attached, then the applicant should use the “attachment screen” to attach that requested information.  However, this will be a rare event.
